eLearning Africa 2015 – Enriching Tomorrow

eLA15 bannerWhat is your vision for Africa? How are you using technology to provide new solutions for education and training? How are you helping to transform Africa?

Africa is on the threshold of an era of dynamic change. The combination of technology and education stands at the forefront of the African Union’s vision of a “transformed continent.”

Co-organised by the African Union and hosted by the Government of Ethiopia, eLearning Africa 2015 will bring together professionals, policymakers and practitioners involved in designing, implementing, providing, financing, supporting, certifying and managing learning in Africa, for a unique discussion about technology and learning. Before the official opening of the conference on Wednesday, May 20, a Ministerial Round Table will be attended by Ministers of Education, ICT, Training, TVET, Industry and Youth from across Africa, as well as private sector and industry experts. The theme of the meeting is ‘Youth, Innovation and the Development of Talent’ and it will provide a platform for discussion between Governments and the private sector about how ICTs can support skills acquisition and enrich labour market potential. It will also explore ways in which the private sector’s contribution to education and training systems in Africa could be expanded.

The annual Ministerial Round Table (MRT) provides a platform upon which to discuss challenges and exchange knowledge about leveraging technology for development, education and training. The goal of the meeting is to facilitate open dialogue and generate practical recommendations that will have an impact on policy drafting and implementation.

The opening plenary on Wednesday evening – 17:30 – 19:30 (Addis Ababa time) will have a live stream that can be accessed via the eLA website at elearning-africa.com/conference_streaming.php.
